Spain: Morera y Vallejo invests 15 million Euro in plant modernisation

Morera y Vallejo Industrial S.L., owner of Plastimer y Macresur's manufacturing plants for the production of agricultural plastics, has started a modernisation process for its plants in Almeria with a total budget of 15 million Euro.

On 28 November, Morera y Vallejo Industrial signed contracts with two German machinery suppliers, amounting to 8 million Euro, in order to start manufacturing the new lines and to be able to offer higher quality products to its customers.

The new production lines will be fully operational in May 2015, allowing the horticultural sector to offer a better service and products ahead of the campaign for the renewal of greenhouse plastics.

The Morera y Vallejo Industrial group will thus supply its plants with the latest technology, placing them at the forefront in terms of quality and productivity, and helping them and their clients obtain higher returns.

The list of products manufactured by Plastimer and Macresur includes:

Plastics for mulch, which make it possible to save water and obtain higher and better yields.

Greenhouse covers, such as long lasting, thermal and EVA films, whose EVA and EBA copolymers allow for crops to adapt to extreme climates with high temperature differences, strong winds and other conditions, with excellent light transmission, a high thermal effect and great resistance to photodegradation.

Plastics for double roofs, which create a microclimate in greenhouses that facilitates plant growth in a crop's early stages.

Plastics for silage, which protects fodders from light, water and air.

Small tunnels, like those used in the cultivation of strawberries, to protect plants from bad weather conditions.

Plastics for disinfection, which offer great safety and effectiveness for the disinfection of agricultural soils.

Plastics for industrial use.
