CUBO technology could be efficient for greenhouse growers:

How to save on energy costs by optimizing heat distribution

Heat loss can cause many big, unnecessary costs to greenhouse growers. Especially older greenhouse structures that have high heating costs as a result of outdated construction materials and poor insulated walls and roofs. But newer structures can also be subject to heat loss due to inefficient temperature regulation and heat distribution. The CUBO series heat/ air mixers are a good solution to reduce heat loss and maintain a more even temperature throughout the production area.

The CUBO air mixers can help greenhouse growers save costs by optimizing their heat distribution inside the greenhouse. As warmer air inside the greenhouse is always rising to the top of the structure where the heat is not needed heat loss occurs. The CUBO technology is pulling the inaccessible hot air from the ceiling level and directing it in a 360 degree radially just above the floor and the plants. This creates a circular flow of air in the greenhouse as well as very even temperatures on all surfaces, including floor, walls and ceiling.

According to John Allbright of Total Energy Solutions, the CUBO technology has proven to work very efficiently in poultry houses, but in the last couple of years it has made its way into the greenhouses and nurserygrowers of North America as well. "The CUBO’s have been used worldwide for about 7 years. We now have another industry that can benefit from the CUBO’s. It works beautifully, growers realize that decreasing their energy costs while providing a great environment for the plants to grow is very important. We have installed CUBO’s in tomato greenhouses, a propagation greenhouse for onion seedlings, potted plant greenhouses and benchtop growing along with hanging baskets.

In addition, a CUBO can be used to efficiently heat the air during circulation through various heating methods.

According to Allbright, the CUBO destratifier is the perfect solution for recovering lost heat costs and maintaining consistent temperatures for the plants. The CUBO air mixers bring further benefits by continually moving the air in the greenhouse which helps with condensation issues.
Saving energy and providing the ideal environment for the plants to grow is a win, win for every one.
