UK: South West Growers Show launches Scholarship with David Colegrave Foundation
The David Colegrave Foundation (DCF) is delighted to announce the launch of the new South West Growers Show (SWGS) Sponsored Scholarship to support students of horticulture.
The David Colegrave Foundation (DCF) is delighted to announce the launch of the new South West Growers Show (SWGS) Sponsored Scholarship to support students of horticulture. The Scholarship offers £1,500 to students studying commercial or production horticulture in the UK.
David Jackson, SWGS Chairman, said, "Over recent years there has been a sharp decline of young people entering the industry and we, as a group of growers ourselves, feel it is important to support those studying commercial or production horticulture. The SWGS Sponsored Scholarship will satisfy both organisations aims by encouraging a new generation of horticulturists".
Jeff Colegrave, DCF Chairman, said "The DCF is thrilled to be able to offer students of horticulture yet another opportunity to develop their skills in and understanding of the industry. The SWGS Sponsored Scholarship will for sure go on to benefit them in their future careers as well as their studies".
The South West Growers Show - one of the leading trade shows for commercial horticulture - will take place on Wednesday 1 October at The Matford Centre in Exeter, Devon.
Now in its 41st year, and the sixth since local growers re-assumed control, the show is aimed at growers and plant buyers - ranging from garden centres and retail outlets to local authorities and the landscaping industry - and brings together key growers and suppliers of specialist horticultural equipment and services.
The SWGS Sponsored Scholarship will be available in September 2014 when the next DCF Scholarship Season opens. For more details on all of the opportunities available go to http://www.davidcolegravefoundation.org.uk/ and click on scholarships.
