Van der Hoeven has become a very international company over the years, with many large assignments in very different countries. "As a specialist contractor, we are faced with different requirements and demands in all these countries in the areas of quality, safety and environment," says Peter Spaans, director of Van der Hoeven in the corporate newsletter.
"The HortiQ system has provided us with a unique written quality system for the greenhouse horticulture industry which we can apply in many countries. The strong reputation of the Dutch greenhouse horticulture industry is the reason why this system is easily accepted by our customers.
"Unfortunately, there was no adequate internationally recognised system available in the area of safety. Many countries have their own safety regulations, which causes a lot of confusion in the different countries. To resolve this problem, OHSAS 18001 was launched. This is an internationally recognised safety system with proven results. Our organisation acquired certification a few months ago. Van der Hoeven is therefore OHSAS 18001 certified."
