Activities marking Ridder's 60th anniversary come to an end

Ridder Drive Systems was founded in 1953 and celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2013. The past year was filled with activities marking this milestone: a customer survey, a country analysis, inspiring speaking sessions, factory tours and boat trips. After the GreenTech fair, our anniversary celebration was officially concluded by the arrival of a large group of international customers.

Committed to customer value

Albert 't Hart, CEO of the Ridder Group: 'A 60th anniversary should not go unmarked. After all, there aren't many companies that can claim such a long history. We owe this success to the fact that creating value for customers has always been paramount to us. That's why we decided to devise a series of fun and inspiring activities together with our customers for the past year. So instead of throwing one huge party, we wanted our customers to get involved. Ultimately, we are an international company, so building a strong relationship with customers is vital.'

60 years of 'Drive to Innovate'

Our ‘Drive to Innovate’ is demonstrated by the fact that we invest 10% of our annual turnover in new developments. These investments are aimed at enhancing the technology at our production facility in the Netherlands and expanding our presence in international markets. In 2012, we invested heavily in new equipment at our production facility. The equipment was put into use in 2013, the year that Ridder turned 60. Albert 't Hart: 'This was the perfect opportunity to tell our customers about our enhanced facility. We first invited our Dutch customers. They were given a tour of the factory, followed by a boat trip on lake Veluwe. Everyone had a great day.'

Customer value survey and country analysis

Ridder's 60th anniversary also presented an ideal opportunity to conduct a comprehensive customer value survey. This survey was carried out in 2013 and the results were bundled in our 'Ridder - moving forward' booklet. In addition to the booklet, each customer who participated in the survey received our strategic country analysis. This analysis not only offered a huge amount of information on the international horticulture market, but also provided customers with a template for preparing their own strategic analyses.

A fitting end to our 60th anniversary celebration

Albert 't Hart: 'The GreenTech fair gave us the chance to invite our international customers to view our facilities. We started the day with a number of presentations, followed by an inspiring session from a trend watcher. Then we gave our guests a guided tour of our factory. Like our Dutch customers, they were impressed by what they saw. We ended the day with a trip on traditional wooden sailing boats on Lake Veluwe. Thanks to the amazing weather and the beautiful town of Harderwijk in the background, some great pictures were taken that day. It was a fitting end to Ridder's 60th anniversary celebration. We'd again like to thank all our customers for coming and making this such a memorable day.'
