Greenco displayed Tommies on coco substrate at Westland Greenhouse

From 31 May to 15 June, the Hockey World Cup took place at the Kyocera Stadium in The Hague. To celebrate the occasion, Greenfields set up a 220 m2 greenhouse next to the stadium; the Westland Greenhouse. At this greenhouse it was possible to enjoy delicious fresh products; a great alternative to the chips, croquettes and frikandels available at the sports canteens.

Horticultural companies had the chance to show at Westland that healthy snacking is possible, and that it can also be really tasty. One of the suppliers for Westland Greenhouse was Greenco. Tommies, the vegetables grown, packaged and presented as sweets, are a big success for fruit and vegetable marketers. For several years, snack tomatoes have been grown on coco substrate and propagation cubes from Van der Knaap-Forteco and Westland Greenhouse allowed visitors to see how this is done.

The Westland Greenhouse also offered plenty other activities during the World Cup, such as workshops for children as well as conferences and workshops on healthy eating.
