Fleurop-Interflora appoints Stefan Gegg as new president
In June 2013, the 44-year old Gegg was elected president of the European branch, the Fleurop-Interflora Association, and of the Fleurop-Interflora Global Flower Services AG. Since June 2013 he has been responsible for the interests of the profession at European level.
Fleurop AG is based in Berlin. The company’s more-than 100-year history is impressive. In 1908 the Berlin florist Max Hübner had an ingenious idea: Instead of sending flowers on an extended journey, an order was to be sent to a reliable local florist—the Fleurop idea was born. Today around 50,000 partner florists in 150 countries form the global Fleurop network. The Fleurop principle applies worldwide: Each and every Fleurop message is hand-arranged by a professional florist and handed to the recipient in person. Around the world, Fleurop partners deliver over 25 million Fleurop messages each year. In August 2014, Fleurop AG together with the German Florists’ Trade Association (Deutscher Floristen e.V.) are organising the German Championship of Florists (Deutschen Meisterschaft der Floristen) in Berlin.
