Sweden: “Climate certified” tomatoes in Skåne

Ingelstorp Garden in Glemmingebro is a tomato grower with climate-certified production. This means, for one thing, that the greenhouse tomatoes are heated with renewable energy.

Currently, the Ingelstorp growers use only a quarter of the energy they consumed when they launched in 1976, with 95% of the total energy being sustainable, with minimal fossil fuels. This makes the company in Skåne climate-certified, according to Swedish standards.

Climate certification is based on the fact that the grower has taken measures to reduce climate change. A certification is confirmation that all conditions are met, so that consumers can rest assured that their purchase is a wise choice for both the climate and the environment.
