US: PBAA partners with Boot Camp Farms to help veterans and neighbourhoods in need
The PBAA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 2011 in conjunction with its signature program called, Players Helping Players (“PHP”). This program serves as a different type of outreach to former NBA players. The PBAA assesses former NBA players’ skill sets and business acumen for the purpose of working with them in charitable, financial and educational revenue generating opportunities. BOOT CAMP FARMS is honoured to be working with the PBAA’s Executive Director and former NBA star Charles D. Smith. “It is an honour for the Professional Basketball Alumni Association to partner with BOOT CAMP FARMS and our service members. We are thrilled to be a part of creating jobs for families and our urban community residents around the country. Our former NBA players known also as “Pro Ball Alumni” live in cities across America and are also excited to be a part of such a growing industry. We look forward to this joint effort and welcome the opportunity to show our troops and their families how much we appreciate them.”
NBA legend and PBAA Board Member Oscar Robertson added, “The Professional Basketball Alumni Association partnering with BOOT CAMP FARMS and our United States Veterans creates a very unique relationship that can truly impact children and families in some of our most needed communities in America”. Antonio St. Lorenzo, CEO of BOOT CAMP FARMS says, “I devoted myself to working with Veterans and people in need for many years and to partner up with the NBA Alumni brings us closer to our goal. We are proud that the Professional Basketball Alumni Association is working with BOOT CAMP FARMS. Former NBA players like Charles Smith and Oscar Robertson have dedicated so much of their time to lending others a helping hand, and now they will be working with us to help Veterans with green jobs and to help less fortunate communities have access to fresh produce.”
