NZ: Cucumber Company Arie van der Houwen expands to over 5 ha

Cucumber company Exception Limited by Arie van der Houwen, in New Zealand, expands from 2.2 to over 5 hectares. DLV Glas and Energie is involved in the expansion, the company states in its newsletter. According to the schedule, the grower will start planting the cucumbers this summer.

Arie van der Houwen comes from a Dutch family of growers. He is in fact a fifth generation grower, having emigrated to New Zealand in 1997, and Exception Limited began in 2000. The company grows cucumbers and snack cucumbers under the label House of Taste. The nursery includes a sorting and packing space. The production is destined for the New Zealand market.
