Spain: Eminent ensures successful winter cultivation with new Habanero Tijuana

Eminent is unique because every aspect of their seed production is done under one roof, from their own seed production, their own cultivation, along with the trading of their cultivated product to Dutch exporters. The upgrade started when they wanted to see improvements in the baby pepper called Tinkerbell. This improvement has led to a nicer shape, better shelf life and a flavour that is simply delicious.

Alongside the development in the area of the baby pepper- which in the seed world is call the Santander - there have been many improvements in tomato and pepper varieties. The last very successful development was with the red Habanero pepper. This variety was used in Dutch greenhouses to develop a pepper that can give a harvest of 20KG per meter sq. Tests are currently being carried out on this variety worldwide. Last winter, this particular breed of Habanero was harvested with great success in Almeria/Spain.
