70% of FloraHolland's turnover is certified

The proportion of certified products at FloraHolland continues to rise. Of the total turnover at FloraHolland, 70% is supplied as certified products. This refers to certificates like MPS (Milieu Programma Sierteelt; Environmental Plan for the Ornamental Flower and Plant Industry), GlobalGAP, KFC (Kenya Flower Council) and Fair Flowers Fair Plants.

Last year it was only 65%. The increase in horticultural certificates is ascribed to more specific demands from customers, especially large-scale retail. The certificates cover rules about the environment and/or social issues. The majority are business certificates and apply to the entire production process of a horticultural company.
