Spain was the EU's second largest tomato supplier in 2013

In 2013, Spain was the European Union's second largest fresh tomato supplier, after shipping 3,044 million kilos of the product. 33.68% of the total was imported by the Netherlands, 27.89% was distributed in Spain and 12% was exported to Morocco, according to data provided by Euroestacom (Eurostat).

The EU's largest tomato supplier was the Netherlands, with a total of 1,025.31 million kilos at an average price of 1.21 Euro/kilo. The turnover achieved was of 1,243.06 million Euro.

The third largest supplier, with 365.63 million kilos, was Morocco, which obtained an average price of 0.77 Euro/kilo and a total turnover of 283.13 million Euro.
