Netherlands: Business forum on horticultural investment opportunities in Macedonia

Invest Macedonia in cooperation with Greenport Westland, is organizing a business forum on “MACEDONIA – Unique combination of natural conditions and agriculture business opportunities” to be held in Honselersdijk, the Netherlands on Wednesday, 9 April. The keynote speakers will be the Westland Municipality Mayor Mr. Van der Tak, Minister of Foreign Investments Mr. Bill Pavleski, Deputy Economy Minister Mr. Hristijan Delev and Mr. Visar Fida, CEO of Invest Macedonia.

Macedonia has held its position amongst Southern Europe (SEE) countries in terms of reforms aimed at improving business operations. In the World Bank Report "Doing Business 2014" Macedonia is ranked 25th out of a total of 189 countries.

The agricultural and agribusiness sector are important economic sectors in Macedonia. Vast natural conditions, from the high mountain pastures of more than 2,000 meters, to the Mediterranean climate of the water-rich valleys, along with tradition enriched with newly developed skills, sets the scene for a variety of opportunities in agriculture. Macedonia has signed free trade agreements with the EU, EFTA, CEFTA countries, Turkey and Ukraine, which provide access to more than 650 million customers.

In short, an ideal opportunity to explore “Opportunities for doing business in Macedonia”
