Interest from China in introducing Almeria's greenhouse model

Chinese companies and authorities have shown their interest in adapting their country's greenhouse vegetable production systems to follow Almeria's model, as well as the latter's marketing, transport and auxiliary industry systems, as reported by an article published by Nova Ciencia.

Contacts and relations are constantly being established between Almeria and Chinese delegations, such as the recent integration of a group of students in the University of Almeria (UAL).

"Almeria is a world leader in horticultural production, and it has its own development model based on the use of low and medium-cost technologies, which allows for development with a high social impact," affirms UAL researcher Fernando Bienvenido in the article. He is one of the people in charge of coordinating agricultural-related partnership agreements with Chinese universities.
