US (MI): Former Molesta Floral greenhouse in Wyoming burns

A large fire took out part of the former Molesta Floral building in Wyoming. Investigators say the fire is not suspicious, but they haven't found the cause yet.

The building at the corner of Madison and 28th is a total loss after a gas leak caused several explosions Monday night.

The Molesta family sold the building to a company called Greenleaf, whose owner was using it to grow plants. Owner Nick DeHaan says about half of the building was filled; now only one crop might be salvageable.

DeHaan says this will be a tough year for his business, but he plans to make a comeback. "Once we get insurance information back, we'll look into how we can rebuild it and we hope to rebuild. This year might be a little tough we might have to put some temporary walls up or something, but we definitely hope to rebuild and continue in the future."

It took crews more than an hour to gain control of the fire Monday night. Officials say part of that was due to the fact that fire hydrants were covered with snow.
