US processing tomato stocks fall due to short crop and higher demand

According to ArgaNet, inventories of tomato products in the US have decreased by almost 10% as of December 2013 compared with the previous year, the latest report by the California League of Food Processors (CLFP) revealed.

This is the result of a combination of factors including lower carry-over stocks at the beginning of the season and a shorter tomato crop, which led to an overall lower supply of product in the market.
