Kenya: Small scale farmers to be included in the EPA negotiations

The Government of Kenya will intensify involvement of the small scale farmers in the EU-EAC EPA negotiations. This is after a high court ruling following a petition filed by Kenya Small Scale Farmers Forum and others. The ruling directed the Government in consultation with the Kenya Small Scale Farmers Forum and others to establish and put in place mechanisms for involving stakeholders in the EPA negotiations in addition to publishing information regarding EAC –EU EPA in at least two dailies for public awareness and in order to stimulate public debate.
