"US (VA): "Christmas Day Reds are a hot Poinsettia this year"

At White's Nursery and Garden Centrer's in Chepasake VA, Picasso, Christmas Day Red, Christmas Tree Red and Ice Crystals are among 20 different varieties of the 460,000 poinsettias grown inside the semi-circular roofed greenhouses. "Christmas Day Reds are a hot item this year," said Kim Wilkinson,manager of the garden centre. "Some people go for the spray-painted and glittery ones, but I like my traditional reds."

"There's always something new with the poinsettias," said Margarete Hall, a 37-year-employee. "Every year there is a change in colour, new varieties and you learn how they look."
