New greenhouse automation technology reduces installation costs and times

After a thorough development and testing period, AEM will present its new ‘ace’ automation system for the horticulture industry during the Tuinbouwrelatiedagen 2013. In collaboration with several forward-looking customers of ours, AEM has developed a new communication technology. Future systems will be supplied complete with this new technology, and all microprocessor PC-controlled systems already launched onto the market by AEM can also be retro-fitted.

Technology from and for the future

Wireless control and operation via a protected Internet connection, higher reliability and unlimited possibilities for future expansion are only some examples of the new ‘ace’ system characteristics. In addition, this new technology renders the AEM system very flexible, so that it will be perfectly suited to both centralized and decentralized applications in horticulture automation. The use of standardized communication devices and a modular system structure keep costs to a minimum.

Universal upgrade kit

Throughout the whole product development process, the term "user-friendly" was always at the forefront of what we were doing. In contrast to what most suppliers offer, current AEM systems can be fitted with an upgrade kit, so that there is no need for new investments into a completely new system. This way, the upgrade kit will provide even older systems with the new functions to increase user-friendliness for growers. Of course all newly to be supplied PC-controlled systems will shortly come complete with this new modern communication protocol, too.

Market presentation

The first Ace system has been put into operation to the complete satisfaction of one of our existing AEM customers. Various standalone systems are connected to each other using fibre optics within a matter of minutes, and thanks to the upgrade kit are now controlled by a central computer. With the new ‘ace’ system, all the latest functions and options are now in reach. AEM will officially present the new ‘ace’ system for the horticulture sector to the world during the Tuinbouwrelatiedagen 2013 in Venray.
