"Glue Traps perform to full satisfaction”"

CombiVliet produces cherry tomatoes, vine tomatoes and plum tomatoes on eight production sites totalling nearly 80ha. CombiVliet is currently working with the glue traps of HSI. The glue rolls have been deployed in the greenhouses 38 weeks ago, to the company’s full satisfaction. "A substantial improvement in terms of longevity," says Ronald Krikke of CombiVliet.

The Aalsmeer company Hortus Supplies International, for some time, has been providing its own traps with remarkable durability. The customized glue rolls are suitable for mechanically trapping harmful insects. The traps are made of UV-resistant film and can therefore be used in lighted cultivation. The adhesive doesn’t drip, even at higher temperatures.

"We were looking for a glue roll that could perform throughout the growing season,” says Ronald Krikke, responsible for the crops at CombiVliet. The HSI traps are now hanging in the greenhouse for 38 weeks. "So far we have had no problems," says Krikke. "We’ll no doubt order a new batch next year.”

The HSI traps are custom made. Hortus Supplies International is been working together with growers to further improve the product. "HSI is open to improvement and was very willing to make a solid contribution to our crop development,” Krikke concludes.
