Inventory Control, Remote Orders, Shipping App and Wireless Sales App:

SBI extends software suite to wider range of devices

SBI Software, software developers for the horticulture industry, has extended their ERP suite of products so they're compatible with a wider range of devices. Growers will now be able to access SBI's point of task applications through any tablet, smartphone or computer.

“We’re customer and industry driven,” said SBI's Ben Marchi-Young. “We knew we had to innovate for emerging mobile technologies and simplify key functionalities for growers, but we didn't want them to have to purchase additional single use hardware.” So SBI developed applications that extend many of their existing software functionalities to any device, including: Inventory Control, Remote Orders, Shipping App and Wireless Sales App. The full range of software controls are still mainly on the back office components of the software that runs on laptops and desktops, but now many convenient functions are available on the go.

“Our Inventory Control Application, for example, is enabled for any device,” said Marchi-Young. “Someone can sync any and all inventory they want to work with for that day then make live changes to that inventory from their preferred device.” This allows someone to change (count, dump, transfer/shift, add availability/production notes and more) inventory quickly and gives everyone else within the company immediate visibility and availability of their inventory for all encompassing purposes. Growers can also manage remote orders and shipments, amongst other things, on their mobile devices.

With 14 years of serving mid-size to large customers who grow a wide range of products, Marchi-Young said their new offerings will give their customers more flexibility and simple efficiencies when using their products.

“There's really no limit,” said Marchi-Young. “Our innovations are continually bridging the gap between growers and software. We have empowered our customers with simple and efficient tools they can use on their existing devices, matched with a powerful Excel like back office user interface for complete company management.”
