"too many players in the market, too few jobs"

Dutch greenhouse builder Growtech Holland den Heijer bankrupt

In early September, greenhouse builder Growtech Holland den Heijer from Naaldwijk declared bankruptcy. The company supplied turnkey projects in Central and Eastern Europe. "Initially they were the only ones there. Gradually, however, more and more players entered the market," says curator Libosan. This refers both to increased competition from the Netherlands, as well as local entrepreneurs taking care of business themselves. "Sales declined and the market slowly disappeared. In the Netherlands there is not much to do and ultimately the company became insolvent.”

A restart seems unlikely. "There are too many players in the market, too few jobs and little employment."
