US(NY): Grow farm busted in Old Brookville plant nursery

Two Suffolk County men were arrested for cultivating a marijuana growing farm on the property of a plant nursery in Old Brookville. Police say that on Friday, September 20 at 9:48 p.m. Old Brookville police, along with the Nassau County Police Canine Unit, responded to the Old Brookville Nurseries located at 5300 Northern Boulevard, after receiving a call about suspicious people loitering on the property.

According to police, during a search of the property, specially-trained police dog “Thunder” discovered Bryan Zembreski, 36, of East Northport hiding in the woods next to four large bags of marijuana.

Anthony Donarummo, 40, also of East Northport, who attempted to run from police, was also found hiding in heavy brush.

After both men were arrested, police continued to search the area and found an extensive marijuana grow farm that contained plants as tall as 12-15 feet.

The property of Old Brookville Nurseries extends far beyond the actual business and police say they the nursery owner had no idea what was going on.
