In Almerimar and the Bay of San Miguel, Almeria:

Spain: New permission to construct greenhouses on developable land

By the end of the year, owners of developable land in Almerimar and the Bay of San Miguel will be able to exploit it with the setup of temporary greenhouses until the area becomes urbanised. To this end, the Council of El Ejido recently approved a specific modification of the Urban Design Organization.

The municipality's Councillor of Agriculture, Manuel Gómez Galera, explained that "Andalusia's Government requested the Organised Developable Land to be converted to Classified Organised Land; a measure that affects the area close to the road to Almerimar and the Bay of San Miguel and which will make it possible for that land to become productive and bring in revenue."

The goal of this initiative is to provide developable land owners, who are suffering from the stagnation of the real estate market, with the chance to find in agriculture a viable solution to their current financial situation.
