US (TX): AgriLife Extension plant propagation program
“The ‘How to Make More Plants’ program is part of our agency’s overall Backyard Basics initiative,” said David Rodriguez, AgriLife Extension horticulturist and county Master Gardener program administrator. “Our trained Master Gardener plant propagation specialists will present this program, where attendees will learn about the simple, basic techniques behind how to make more plants from the plants they already have.”
Rodriguez said the program would easily pay for itself in money saved by propagating more plants from existing ones as opposed to buying new plants of the same varieties.
“The ability to propagate new plants is also great for those people who have heirloom or ‘legacy’ plants and want to keep that plant line alive and share it with friends and family,” he said.
Cost is $20 with registration online at http://agriliferegister.tamu.edu/BackyardBasics or by calling 979-845-2604.For more program information, contact Rodriguez at 210-467-6575 or [email protected].
