Recently, Sjaak Bakker became CFO of Flier Systems, a horticultural automation company that has been active in the sector since 1931. The ambitious Sjaak plans to introduce the standardized modulation of machines. “Due to these modulations we expect to gain more efficiency,” he says. “This is advantageous for both Flier and its customers.”
The Britishcompany Hillgate Nurseries is a regular customer of Flier, and has been since 1994. In 2003 the system was extended with an internal transport system for boxes. "There were two machine builders who could deliver," says David Barton. "Because of the high capacity and robustness of the system, we have again chosen Flier. Their system can handle 50% more cases than the system of the other machine builder."
