Spain: Biotomate to launch black cherry tomato next season

The company Biotomate from Almeria, part of the Hortofrutícola Castillo Cabeo group (HCC), continues to innovate. Their wide range of organic tomatoes may soon be expanded with a black cherry tomato. From the beginning of this season, trials have been conducted. If the results are positive, and there is a demand for this product, the following year, large quantities will likely be put on the market.

Biotomate currently has about half a hectare dedicated to ecological tomatoes, in El Alquián. There are different varieties, such as the round tomato (Pitenza and Ramyle) and ribbed tomato (Marmande Rebelión).

For six months now, the company has an online store (www.biotomate.es) where the products are offered throughout the season.
