This season, tomato grower Geert van Ruijven chooses the new vine tomato Nun 09008 by Nunhems. His success with Merlice notwithstanding, Van Ruijven has decided to dedicate his entire acreage to the variety. “It’s true,” he says, “Merlice worked out well for me. But together with The Greenery I opted for a middle-segment tomato that will provide returns even in Winter.”
The 09008 Nun tomato quickly presented itself as the best choice. "The vigour is more than sufficient and necessary in a long cultivation.” Both with lighting and in traditional cultivation, the crop performs well - and this is important for Van Ruijven because he wants his entire acreage made up of a single variety.

"The Nun 09008 has the added advantage of being mildew-resistant. Van Ruijven: "Mildew resistant varieties are also usually more resistant to botrytis, at least in my eyes.”
