Europe: Treatment with Oberon effective to fight tomato gall mite
In spite of the dreaded tomato gall mite not showing up so far, scouting for it remains vital. When tomato plants are found with this infestation, action must immediately be taken. Infection reveals itself as a rust-coloured stem. As the damage gets worse, the leaves will also brown and eventually the plant will die.
Because initially only on the stem shows signs of infestation, it is not easily recognized by employees. Therefore it is advisable to show the early signs to all the staff members. As no natural enemies are available, chemical treatment is necessary. Oberon is a good option, it is safe for bumblebees and most biological control agents. See also the list of side effects.
Oberon commits to the wax layer of leaves and stays active during growth, thereby achieving maximum results. For more information please contact Koppert.
