labour registration:

“Overview increasingly important in large company”

The labour registration system has become indispensable at Zuidgeest Growers. It provides overview and is an important tool for labour and planning. The bigger a company gets, the more vital management tools like the Priva FS Performance become.

If the employees of Zuidgeest Growers walk to the cafeteria during their break, they pass a monitor displaying their performance that day. "That's a kind of natural incentive," says manager Marc Zuidgeest. "We’re not trying to harass people, but if their performance is notably lacking, we can find out what the issue is.”

Zuidgeest Growers, producing mostly tomatoes and orange peppers, is using the labour registration system by Priva, consisting of mobile terminals and fixed stations in the greenhouse, plus the accompanying software. “Apart from performance enhancement, we deploy the system in order to keep proper overview,” says Marc. "We also use it for scheduling. We can keep up with how many hours we put in and whether we are on track in terms of labour budget. We’ve been using this system for 10 years now, and we’d be lost without it.”

Marc Zuidgeest is aware of the potential of the Priva FS Performance. "The increasing scale and the fact that we have fewer and fewer permanent employees, makes the need for additional solutions in the future bigger. The bigger your company gets, the more complex. You need proper tools to keep up.”
