North America: Philips team, plant knowledge still growing

Plants can react very differently to the enormous range of factors in their surroundings, such as the intensity and direction of the light and changes in temperature. Our global team of plant specialists forms one of the key pillars in our approach to helping growers find the best light recipe for their crop. As the appointment of a new plant specialist, Dr Abhay Thosar, to the North American team shows, we are continuing to expand our team of plant specialists, and that means our plant knowledge is still growing too.

Light recipes

As a plant specialist, Dr Abhay Thosar contributes to the success of Philips Horticulture by providing advice and defining the best LED light recipes for plant growing practices (e.g. greenhouses, research institutes and universities) in North America. Just like the rest of the Philips plant specialist team, he will provide consistent support to growers, enabling them to achieve a high-quality output in a sustainable way.

Worldwide plant knowledge

Different regions, plants and markets call for a wide range of plant knowledge. This is why our many Philips plant specialists are based all over the world, in regions like Asia Pacific, China, the Benelux, and North America. Their knowledge and expertise range from tissue culture to tomato production, and from cut flowers to bedding plants. All this knowledge is, of course, shared intensively.

All our plant specialists have an extensive horticultural background and are able to understand the most specific grower needs. Hundreds of projects relating to many different aspects of horticulture have already been carried out successfully with the help of Philips plant specialists.

Need our advice?

If you would like our advice, please don't hesitate to contact one of our LED Horti partners or Key Account Managers to find out how we can help you. Our team of specialists is there to support you by providing the best possible advice on using LED lighting in horticultural applications.
