This week some uniquely packaged Dutch aubergines are to be found on German shelves. Over 300 branches of Real hypermarkets are displaying the novelties. Famous German chef Heiko Antoniewicz will be using the grill at various locations to entice consumers.
Eggplant growers, in collaboration with Big Green Egg Europe, have launched the German campaign ‘Grill und Gewinn' ('Grill and win'). Germans are crazy about barbecuing and Germany is an important market for the Netherlands. The growers, united under A8, target German consumers on the shop floor, the place where purchases are made.
The eggplants have a label referring to the contest. Heiko Antoniewicz will take part in the jury. Members will assess the eggplant recipes cooked on the barbecue through photos, which can be submitted on www.grillundgewinn.de via the dedicated campaign website or on www.facebook.com/grillundgewinn.
