On Friday, June 21, about a hundred substrate specialists, scientists and entrepreneurs from all over the world attended a tour by Klasmann-Deilmann Benelux in Schiedam, manufacturer and supplier of substrates for horticulture and arboriculture. The tour was part of the International Symposium on Growing Media and Soilless Cultivation, held 17-21 June 21 in Leiden.
After the welcome speech by CEO Ted Vollebregt the guests were shown around by the substrate supplier. The groups were informed about the processes and the application of sustainability aspects in the production and transfer hall and in the room where the raw materials are processed. The guests also visited the production hall and the sustainable raw materials were examined in greater detail. After the tour in Schiedam, the international ensemble left for a visit to the nurseries of Sion Orchids, Delifor Chrysanthemums and TopKrop / Dry Hydroponics.
