European supermarketchains often replace fruit and vegetables from Spain by products from other,less sunny countries. Produce onthe shelves of middle and North European supermarkets increasingly come from theNetherlands and the United Kingdom. The eggplant, zucchini and summer fruitssuch as watermelons and Sandia melons are still mostly supplied by Spain.
