Spain: Unica Group expands with the acquisition of Parque Natural
More and more companies join Unica Group in Almeria (Spain). The latest acquisition took place on May 30, when the Asamblea General de Parque Natural decided to join the Unica Group, a cooperative playing a vital role for the future of the fruit and vegetable sector in Almeria. With the acquisition of the Parque Natural, which will be implemented in 2013/2014, Unica Group achieves a turnover of 200 million Euro and a production volume of 195 million kilos of fruits and vegetables.
Unica Group derives its success from its unity and its innovative deployment of market strategies. Recently it launched the ‘Ready, Veggi, Go!’ and ‘Tomato Time’, tasty snack-sized products.
Unica Group was founded in 2009. From the beginning, the cooperative has focused on expanding activities and acquiring other companies. Recent additions include Agrieco, juice processor El Grupo and now Parque Natural, which together with Cabasc, Casur, Cohorsan and Ferva currently make up the Unica Group.
