Germany: Spring onions in Pfalz area threatened by heavy rainfall

As a result of the wet weather in the Pfalz, the growing conditions are worrying. This was said by Dutch importer Angela de Kloe, who has been importing spring onions from the Pfalz for years. "Of course, we're trying to keep enough product in stock, but as you can see in the pictures, it has to end somewhere."

"These photos were sent to us on Friday morning by our German colleague/inspector. This field of spring onions can be considered lost. It's no longer harvesting, it's wizardry. It won't be without consequences. This will result in a shortage in product and probably higher prices," Angela concludes. "We're also out of the spinach sales, as they've gone down the drain."
