Russia: Ural Agricultural University develops new stress tolerant cucumber

The staff of the Sverdlovsk agricultural academy has launched the new cucumber variety "Olympian". According to Michael Karpukhina, head of the Department of Vegetables and Fruit of the Ural Agricultural University, the cucumber has a compact size and excellent taste and excellent yield. "Olympian" is as well as very resistant to sudden changes in temperature, even in the Southern regions of Russia.

The selection of the variety took nearly four years. The first cucumbers are planned to be harvested at the end of this Summer.
