France: Floralies Internationales Nantes opening doors in May 2014

The eleventh edition of the Floralies Internationales - Nantes, one of the most prestigious ornamental events in Europe, will take place in just a year's time from 8 to 18 May 2014. For the occasion, the association organising the show, the Comité des Floralies, is revealing the first events section of its website www.comite-des-floralies.com. Visitors to the site will discover all kinds of new features including teaser video of the event produced by the Comité des Floralies and Sylvain Michoux, the set designer for this 11th edition, along with a countdown to the official launch of the Floralies Internationales - Nantes.

One year before the event opens to the public, the Comité des Floralies and its volunteers are working together to prepare a high-quality ornamental display. Since 31 January 2013, ornamental exhibitors have been invited to present their projects to the Comité. These must be in keeping with the general staging guidelines and the chosen theme.

Following "Power of Flowers" in 2009, the theme honoring the 11th edition is "Bouquet of Arts". The event's ornamental design will be based on this unifying theme, taking inspiration from architecture, sculptures, painting, dance, music, poetry, song, cinema, and even cartoons to take visitors on a poetic journey through the Arts.

This new edition is also an opportunity for the Comité des Floralies to let talented young people show off their work during the event in the all new "Jeunes créateurs" garden competition. The aim of this competition is to support young people in the areas of horticulture, landscape and flowers, by having them design a garden in the special setting on the banks of the Erdre.

For the 4th consecutive edition, the Crédit Mutuel LACO bank has joined the Comité des Floralies as an official partner and will also contribute to the Bouquet of Arts with its own ornamental stand.

Teaser film, registration forms, media centre, etc. all information about the 11th edition of the Floralies Internationales - Nantes is available at www.comite-des-floralies.com.
