The international Horti Fair - in Vijfhuizen?
When the continuation of the annual Horti Fair suddenly became the focal point of debate, and on-going arguments on the intended location fuelled general discontent, Dick van Raamsdonk of HPP Exhibitions took the opportunity and furtively set up his own horticultural trade fair. "We have been organizing international horticultural fairs for thirty years. Finally we decided to have it right in our backyard.”

HPP Exhibitions organizes various horticultural exhibitions worldwide, including the Hortiflora in Ethiopia, the World Floral Expo in the USA and the International Floriculture Trade Fair (IFTF) in Vijfhuizen. The latter exhibition, focusing on the floriculture sector, was established in 2010 and is still growing. Now they also add horticulture to this profile. "The horticultural sector wants to present itself properly. That's exactly what we offer with the IHTF and it looks like a lot of the Horti Fair exhibitors are choosing us as an alternative."

"Organizing exhibitions is a trade in itself,” says Van Raamsdonk. “We have a strong relationship with breeders, exporters, you name it. But we have no organization above us and no other interests. The Horti Fair was kind of plagued by a lot of well-meaning people, who had lost touch with the exhibitors."
