NZ: Faber Greenhouses builds new 3.5 hectares for NZ Gourmet

New Zealand Gourmet recently commissioned Faber Greenhouses to construct their new 3.5 hectare Capsicum facility in New Zealand. Faber Greenhouses has a good history of working together with Gourmet having completed several greenhouses for the company in the past.

“The glasshouse construction is running ahead of schedule and will be complete before the end of the month,” says Director Folco Faber from his office in Australia. “Our builders, EJ Contractors, have once again shown what they are capable of in a short period of time.”

Roelf Schreuder Protected Crops Director of NZ Gourmet had this to say about the challenges regarding the greenhouse construction: “We had a very short time line to get this project underway as we wanted to plant in June 2013. From day one after the contract was signed with Faber’s in October everything progressed very quickly and very well, which means that the actual building started in January and currently we are nearly a week ahead of schedule. This is partly due to the perfect dry summer we had but mainly due to a good planning and a positive team working on site and people willing to go the extra mile. Work went on Saturday’s until late in the evening and even over the Easter period work went on like normal.”

“We are pleased to be able to provide this type of customer satisfaction and welcome more enquiries from all over the world” says Folco.
