Japan: VB Greenhouses construct 2 hectare greenhouse for Tomita Miho

In January 2013 VB Greenhouses, member of VB Group, started the construction of a modern 2 hectare glasshouse project in Tsuchiura Miho, Inashiki District, Ibaraki, Japan. Despite the cold winter period, a lot of progress has been made. All the required materials for the project have been shipped in November and December 2012. The greenhouse has been designed to grow tomatoes on the vine. The issue of food safety in the wake of the 2011 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster remains the subject of deep concern in Japan and abroad. This project is an example to help improving the supply of healthy safe vegetables.

VB Greenhouses closely cooperates with Tomita Technologies to execute this project. Other project partners are VB Climate for the heating installations, Alumat Zeeman for the screen systems, Arend-Sosef for the water-technical and electrical installations and FormFlex for the crop gutters.

The greenhouse project is expected to be completed in the late spring of 2013.
