During the meeting a vote was taken on the proposed promotion plan for cut Anthuriums. The promotion committee prepared the project proposal together with the cut Anthurium FPC and FloraHolland. The plan was presented by the cut Anthurium FPC for a vote (on product-specific promotion), in conformance with the product-specific promotion rule approved by the members at the general annual meeting on 6 December 2012.
Product-specific promotion rule
There were 28 member companies present at the Anthurium meeting, representing 86% of the turnover of cut Anthurium, who voted in favour of the promotion plan for cut anthurium in 2013-2015. Two members had voted digitally in advance of the meeting. This means that from 1 January 2013 all growers will pay a 0.2% promotion charge over their realised turnover in 2013. This charge is collected quarterly (for the periods January through March, April through June, July through September and October through December).
The promotion committee for cut Anthurium and cut Anthurium FPC will be busy in the near future putting the final touches on preparing the implementation of the promotion plan over the next few years.
