According to the study, somewhere between 30 and 50% of food stuff is disposed of or in some other way dismissed. A lot of fresh produce never ends up in retail, or isn’t even harvested when they do not meet the high demands of traders in quality and appearance.
The research has shown that 45% of surveyed participants put no great value on the appearance of fruit and vegetables. 26% of respondents indicated looking at the price, only 10% of the participants considered appearance important.
