Germany: Meagre supplies push up lettuce prices

Low supplies of lettuce are causing prices to rise on German markets. In spite of this, Germany is still heading the market. Lettuce prices have gone up to 55 Euros per 100 kilos. Available supplies are being supplemented by Belgian and Dutch produce.


While Dutch and German supplies are dwindling, those of the Spanish Iceberg lettuce is increasing. But even in Spain tight markets pushed up prices to 68 Euros per 100 kilos.
