The course is aimed at growers, students and horticulture professionals who use or are interested in implementing hydroponics or soilless cultivation techniques. During the course a special focus will be placed on maximum performance in production and sustainability.
The organization has invited Dr. Miguel Urrestarazu Gavilan of the University of Almeria, Spain, to teach the course.
Location and Course Itinerary:
May 22nd-26th (2017), Autonomous University of Queretaroalternating in three sites. From Monday - Thursday from 15:00 to 20:00 hrs (coffee break, 17:30-18:00 hrs);
- Amazcala Campus, Faculty of Engineering
- Gilberto Hernandez Cabrera Auditorium, Faculty of Chemistry.
- Friday from 09:00 to 17:00 hrs (practical session in greenhouse).
Course content:
- May 22nd. Components, fundamentals & systems of soilless cultivation systems.
- May 23rd. Horticultural substrates, management, and its relation with cultivation units.
- May 24th. The fertirrigation solution.
- May 25th. Fertirrigation techniques in soilless cultivation systems.
- May 26th. Practical session in greenhouse (limited to 30 participants).
