First edition in 2014:

Growtech will replace Horti Fair in Amsterdam Rai

A two-year, international trade fair with a first edition in 2014, so much is settled upon in regard to Growtech Amsterdam. The exhibition is organized by the RAI and people are currently in talks with several, major parties, according to Johan Tensen. "We're looking for the widest possible support for this initiative."

Since the departure of the Horti Fair, plans for two large international horticultural fairs have been put forward. The IHTF of HPP Exhibitions takes place in November this year. The RAI, organizer of Growtech Amsterdam, deliberately chooses to postpone the event until next year. "We believe it is important that the concept is supported on the domestic market. We’re exchanging ideas with various industry people, and they are telling us that they want to contemplate the best possible concept for the industry,” says Tensen, who represents the RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre. "That may cause some delays now, but it gives us time to come up with a concept that best suits visitors and exhibitors. We're looking for the widest possible support for this initiative."

The event is poised to be a leading international trade fair for the (food) horticulture and floriculture sector. "The precise date has yet to be revealed," says Tensen. "There has been an Advisory Board set up and that is one of the topics they will debate in the next meeting."
