Over the past five years, Azerbaijan has reaped substantial gains from tomato exports, totaling approximately $900 million.
From 2019 to 2023, the country exported 789,311 tons of tomatoes, fetching $880,466,700, according to calculations by APA-Economics based on the State Customs Committee report. This export volume represents 27.2% of Azerbaijan's total agricultural exports, which amounted to $3.237 billion during the mentioned period.
Primarily, Azerbaijan's tomatoes found their way to Russia, with exports reaching $861,639,000 from 2019 to 2023. This constitutes 97.9% of Azerbaijan's total tomato exports. The average export price per kilogram of tomatoes stood at $1.11 during the reporting period.
