Supply shortage

China: Kunming tomato prices increased by 20%

The price of Kunming tomatoes has increased by 20% in comparison with the beginning of April, because there is a supply shortage. The volume of tomatoes from Kunming plantations that entered the market recently decreased. Small traders all ran to Yuxi and Chuxiong to purchase tomatoes and the wholesale and retail prices increased because the cost price increased. It is estimated that Kunming tomatoes will enter the market in large volumes in early May. When that happens, the price will naturally decrease.
