The Mediterranean Corridor: 5,000 trains with F&V per year

More than 500 companies from Almería, Murcia, Valencian Region and Cataluña, including many from the f&v export sector, have reminded the Spanish Government once again the need for the railway infrastructure between France and Algeciras, known as the Mediterranean Corridor.

According to Anecoop, agri-food companies would save 6 euro cents per kilo when opting for rail transport, plus another 3 euro cents per 1000 km traveled.

Only the horticultural exports from Almería, Murcia and Alicante would fill 5000 trains a year to export a production of 5.6 million tonnes.
